Yes they are closed for the season now. Their last day was Friday the 12th. Me and the kids went there for the last day. 😊
I wouldnt think so. Summers not over yet. I would go ask the owner and see what they say. Good luck!! 😊
They are closed for winter every year. They are, however, for sale now. Listed 2 days ago.
I don't know. Should be soon I would think.
They have indeed. Perfect day for a visit, right?!
They are open for the season and should be open till 8pm tonight, they do get busy too so may have been a busy time when you called?
I believe they open again in April.
Excellent service and food every time
This place is one of a dying breed. Definitely a must stop in East Saint Paul. The burgers, meatball subs, chicken parmesan sandwich, and spaghetti are all on point. The cold Italian sandwich could be a bit better. I just got it last visit. The tomato and onion slices were WAY too thick. Overpoweringly thick. All-in-all, Dari-ette is a great place. Get in before they close for the winter!
I like it. Not really a place you would go for an Italian meal, but it's cool that they offer you the sampling. The food is good and they have a fun variety of items. I know I will go back there for fun and you should check it out too, especially if you like to experience the old style car hop eat in your car thing. I prefer to sit at a table, or you can easily get your food to go. It's one of those places that a lot of people can appreciate.
Simple, old school ice cream joint with a few red sauce italian type things on their menu. Banana flurry and meatball sandwich were A+.
Was not at all my best experience at a restaurant. My four friends plus me all ordered kids meals with chicken strips and one small malt. Our food took about 40 minutes to get our food. Our chicken strips were not warm (wondering why they didn’t bring them out if it took so long) and the ice cream could have been much better. Plus the workers were not very nice I said thank you and she closed the window...... not sure why but that’s Ali have to say about the dari-ette.
They were out of meatballs, sausage, fish, and cold cuts so we got the burger and fried chicken. The burger was good and would be great for $6 instead of $8. The fried chicken was tender and pretty tasty, but also the biggest pile of grease I've ever had for fried chicken, I'd skip it next time. The experience was pretty okay but definitely not all the rage of the Eastside as some would claim.
The chicken Cesar salad was the bomb and the waiter he was awesome to on top it.Can't wait until Tuesday I will be there before work to get my spaghetti and chicken with my garlic bread
Old fashioned drive-in food joint.Local high school kids as car hops.Prices are fair. Two bacon cheese burgers, large onion rings and two large chocolate shakes cost a little under $30. It's a neighbor tradition to go at least once a season.
As with every time I visit the Dark-Etta, I had great service, and tasty food. We stopped for ice cream this time, and it was perfect on this mild almost summer day.
I eat here a lot since I work close by. I like how their service is always great and they keep the place neat all the time. Pricing is affordable and they serve big portions.
Great food, customer service should be worked on.
Great homemade Italian Comfort Food! Awesome Banana Malts! Also one of the only places I've found that you can get a Black Raspberry Shake!
Delicious meatball sandwich! Great atmosphere and friendly service as well. Can't wait for it to open again in the spring.
Good food and good service, one of my favorite places to go and eat
Great food, come every year...a family favorite also the best banana shake I ever had !!!
Food was absolutely delicious! Great value for the money. Not a lot of seating. Highly recommend!
Amazing plaze! Great treats and food! And the bring it right to your car
Had my first Italiano and it was superb. Will return again and again.
What can I say..Classic..Nostalgia..and oooo,So GOOD!From burgers to fried chicken..Ooo & their spaghetti...
The food here is always consistently the same Great! You have to try the pizza burger and the onion rings are the best in town, this place is a piece of History a true Classic 50's Drive-In
The red sauce is the best, fried chicken top notch
I had the Dari-ette burger with fries and cole slaw. I also had a strawberry malt. My wife had the pizza burger. The kids we brought with had the kids meals that come in the cool classic car carriers. We sat at the new picnic table area. A nice night with a good meal.
It was a disappointment. The push button didn't work. No chocolate ice cream. We ordered hot fudge sundaes. Ice cream was melted. We will not ho back.
Awesome and delicious food, I like the ambience this place has, and the cashiers were kind. I will definitely eat here again.
Old fashioned drive in with surprisingly delicious Italian food. Ice Cream is good too!!! I'll be back for sure.
Good food and good service
LOVE THIS PLACE BEEN GOING THERE FOR 49 YEARS.
Fantastic place. Food was amazing and the ice cream even better. Their red sauce is amazing and you can get seats family sized things to go
This is just a great place to eat! Great burgers and fries. Spaghetti is very good and so are the meatballs. Italian sausage is one of the best in town and prices are very good.
The only reason I rated this place 4 stars is because I do love their hamburgers and other foods. The service gets a -10. The young lady at the window is rude to me and others every time I go. Sometimes I just want to tell her how her smug look is going to get her in trouble someday.
I got a Carmel shake and it had way too much caramel in the shake. So when I took it back they were rude and said “Well everyone know us for our caramel shake” like okay this was my first time here and now my last time here. Treat your customer with some respect so they are customer for life!!! You guys need to do better.
Love the banana malts!
The spaghetti and meatballs were great! They have a really tasty sauce. I went back for some today but they were unfortunately closed. So instead I went to an italian restaurant nearby which was a sit down restaurant and it still did not top the Dariette Drive in’s spaghetti.
Sundae was good, but they won't put flurry toppings on the sundaes. They have Oreo for the flurries, but wouldn't let me order an Oreo fudge sundae even though I would have paid $1.50 extra ($1 to upgrade to a large, $.50 for the secone topping) to get it.
Text me back to when I was a kid back in the 70s. Good food great prices.
This place is great. It was my fiance's suggestion as it's in her home town. Its nostalgic decor but with absolutely fantastic food and great prices. I recommend their fry chicken dinner, and of course your favorite ice cream or handmade shake for dessert. Can't go wrong here!
Waited so long for them to finally open and got moldy bread with my spaghetti. So disappointed.
It's not about the speed, it's about the quality and this is some of the best Italian food I've had in the area to date!
Simple amazing food. Burgers are 🔥🔥
If you're looking for great onion rings and and meatball sandwiches ya gotta go
Food is pretty good here. Wish the food would be a little hotter but over all great place to grab a bite to eat with the fam
The sauce isn't tangy, it's full of flavor and texture. Speaking of texture, the meatball is such a bond of seasoning and love that it's difficult to cut through with the plastic fork (biting was the ticket!) The pasta Fagioli was almost as good as Jan's (she knows who she is 😚). The dessert, a delicious FRESH Banana malt (no scurvy here), as expected from a 1950' themed Drive-In!
Great place, great food, does however seem like the prices go up every year
The Dari-ette is a fun place to eat. Great old school food, great staff.
Been coming here since 1991...Love the food!
In house spaghetti sauce is really good, in house made Italian sausage best in town, fresh baked bread, deep fried meatballs, Mmm
Stopped and ate outside with the kiddos. The kids meals come in a cardboard car box that was pretty cool. BEST fries we've had in a long time. Didn't even need ketchup. It seemed like it took awhile to get our food but it was totally worth the wait.
Fun, nostalgic place. Good spaghetti and meatballs
Been coming to the Dari-ette for forty years when the Fida family started it and I believe it is still in the family. The spaghetti sauce hasn't changed in all that time and is the greatest. The broasted chicken is the best in the Twin Cities. I have always had good service - - Don't forget the tip for the car hop.
Have yet to eat an item we didn't like. It's all so good! Best french fries I've ever had. Their soft serve ice cream is better than dairy queen's. My husband has liked their meatball sandwich and I enjoy their pizza burger. Gotta try it!
